Sumit Kumar is an Indian social worker and local leader from Bhagalpur, Bihar. Sumit Kumar is known for his service as Sarpanch and Mukhiya in Gram Panchayat Telghi and for his continued role in public representation and community development.

Early Life

Sumit Kumar was born on 02 February 1984 in Telghi village, located in Kharik Bazar, Bhagalpur district of Bihar. He is the son of Late Arvind Pd. Singh.

Career

Sumit Kumar began his public service career as Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Telghi from 2011 to 2016. He later served as Mukhiya of the same panchayat from 2016 to 2021, where he contributed to local governance and development initiatives.

Since 2022, he has been serving as Head Representative at Grampanchayat Domuhan Banka. Alongside his public service, he is also involved in distributorship business of products from various small companies.

Achievements

  • During his tenure as Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Telghi, Sumit Kumar was honored by Chief Justice of Patna High Court Sri V N Sinha, Judge Sri Dhirendra Mishra (SDJM, Civil Court Naugachia), and the District Panchayati Raj Officer for his excellent performance, receiving a certificate of appreciation.
  • While serving as Mukhiya, Sumit Kumar was honored by Deputy Chief Minister Sri Tarkeshwar Prasad, Animal Husbandry Minister Sri Mukesh Sahani, and MLC Sri N K Yadav during a Zee TV news program held at Bhagalpur Medical College auditorium, where he received a memento and certificate for outstanding work.
  • As Mukhiya Representative at Gram Panchayat Domuhan Banka, Sumit Kumar was honored for his excellent performance by Deputy Chief Minister Sri Samrat Choudhary, Building Minister Sri Jayant Kushwaha, MLA and former minister Sri Ram Narayan Mandal, District Magistrate Sri Anshul Kumar, DDC Sri Kaushalendra Kumar, and the Block Development Officer.

Sumit Kumar is actively involved in social work and community welfare activities. His interests include working for rural development and public service.
