Gaurav Tyagi is an Indian Chief Law Officer, General Counsel, lawyer, and legal professional. He is presently serving as Chief Law Officer in a nationalised bank and is based in Pune and Delhi NCR. He possesses a unique blend of court practice and corporate legal leadership, with extensive expertise in banking laws, recovery laws, company law, insolvency matters, cyber laws, information technology laws, administrative law, and constitutional law.

With more than 23 years of professional experience, he has worked with several senior advocates and has held key legal and managerial positions in the Bank of Maharashtra.

Early Life

Gaurav Tyagi was born in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, into a family with a distinguished legal heritage spanning four generations.

His great-grandfather, Nathu Ram Tyagi, served as a Magistrate during the British period and held his court in Jaunchana Village for the entire district. The family became locally known as the Deputy Saheb Family.

His grandfather, Hoti Lal Tyagi, studied law under the guidance of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya and later became a senior advocate in the Bulandshahr Court.

His father was also a renowned advocate who specialized in revenue and civil court practice in Bulandshahr.
